Why is Timeliness being discontinued?

After careful consideration and analysis of user engagement patterns, we've made the difficult decision to discontinue active development of Timeliness. Despite our best efforts and the innovative approach to task management, we haven't been able to attract and retain enough regular users to sustain the project long-term.

However, we're committed to ensuring Timeliness remains available for free for all current users. The service will continue to function as-is, and you can keep using it without any interruptions. We truly appreciate everyone who has tried Timeliness and supported our vision of better task management through calendar integration.

General

What differentiates Timeliness from other task apps?: With Timeliness we follow the idea to manage your tasks where you manage you time: In your existing calendar.

This has the advantage that you can not only see easily when you should to start working on the next task, but it also means you get to move things around just as you already do with normal events. Timeliness enables you to do this by creating an event for your task's deadline and by creating events for the sole purpose of blocking out time, so you can work on your task. We call these time blocking events do dates.
What are do dates?: Do dates are events in your calendar that have the job of blocking out time, in order for you to work on a specific task. They also provide a nice way to track your tasks progress, because you will have to mark the do dates as done after you have worked on them.
Can I use the app on my phone?: Yes, while we don't have a native mobile app yet, we do have a progressive web app (PWA) which you can install on your phone. You can find out how to install it on your phone's operating system here.

Calendar integration

Are you going to mess up my calendar?: No, we won't mess up your calendar. Timeliness never touches any of your events. The only thing Timeliness does, is create events for you to block out time and create events representing deadlines. It does that in it's own separate calendar. That means if you don't like it you can simply delete the calendar created by Timeliness.
How does Timeliness integrate with my calendar?: There are two ways Timeliness integrates with your calendar:
Timeliness uses the availability information to plan out a perfect schedule, that makes sure you get your tasks done in time

Timeliness also creates events in a separate calendar dedicated to Timeliness events, where it creates an event representing a tasks deadline, and also events for a specific task that block out time for you to work on this task
Is the calendar sync two way?: Yes! Every Timeliness event you change will be synced back to Timeliness and the other way around. There are also some cool things you can do with non-Timeliness events: Check out the features to learn more.
